Most people don’t realize what it takes to drive a race car. You need to be in prime physical and mental shape to be able to race let alone compete to win. To achieve this requires a high level of commitment and dedication to the sport (yes race car driving is indeed a sport!), just like any sport. Not what you were thinking is it? Most people wouldn’t ever put football and Nascar in the same class.
Ultimately though, my goal here isn’t to classify Nascar – instead it’s to talk about what you can do to help get yourself in top shape, specifically mentally. Physical shape is fairly simple – at least to understand, maybe not to achieve. Exercise to build strength, increase endurance. There is more information available online about proper exercising then I could even dream to cover so instead I want to focus on what you can do to get the mental edge you need.
First and foremost (and obviously) – eat and sleep right. While we’re slowly becoming more aware about the toll the poor American diet has on us, there’s no doubt a large part of it’s toll is mental. Eat fresh unprocessed fruits, vegetables and meats – you’ll be amazed how much better you’ll feel should you decide to stick with it.
Supplement, specifically try Nootropics. Nootropics have been around awhile but are only starting to become more popular. In short they’re a class of drugs that improve cognitive function. Our favorite is Noopept which helps increase focus and motivation, increase creativity, improve mood and reduce mental fatigue. Noopept is generally considered to be one of the safer more effective nootropics, perfect if you’re just getting into them.
