Tampa, Florida-based Vesta Motorsports USA announced that it has acquired the assets of two auto racing safety equipment manufacturers: SafeQuip, a 20-year old company based in Irmo, South Carolina and RaceQuip, a 30-year old business out of Columbus, Ohio. “The merging of these two brands into one company allows us to offer the widest range of racing safety equipment in the industry,” Vesta’s President, Patrick Utt, said. The company will continue to produce American-made custom racing suits in its Irmo, South Carolina facility under the direction of Tim Lee, SafeQuip’s previous owner. Bob Mantell, Vesta’s Executive Sales Director and a veteran of the racing safety industry, offered: “The biggest change the racer will see is that both brands will now offer a complete line of off-the-shelf safety gear distributed through a worldwide dealer network.” Utt, who previously founded Powerhouse Products and most recently served as Publisher of Circle Track and Stock Car Racing magazines, says, “Our mission is to continue to keep grassroots racers safe with affordable quality products through our Safe-Quip line while offering a premium product under the RaceQuip brand.” |
